The 73rd and 74th Constitutional amendments, inter-alia, sought to create a machinery for free and fair elections to the Local Bodies through an independent State Election Commission. Accordingly, the institution of the State Election Commission in Rajasthan was created in July, 1994. The set up of the State Election Commission in Rajasthan has firmly taken root, with all elections to the various Local Bodies being held in a fair and impartial manner, at periodicities mandated by the Constitution. In order to provide greater transparency to these elections, it has been our effort to provide all relevant information on our website, and update the same at regular intervals.

The website contains various facts, statistical data and important information about various aspects of election related activity. I hope this website would be of interest to the public, research workers and would welcome suggestions in increasing the coverage, improving the quality and content of this website.
